My phone has been hacked, Tinubu alleges

LAGOS -  Former Lagos State governor, Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu, yesterday, alerted that his phone had been hacked into.
A statement by his media office said: “It has come to our attention that a telephone number belonging to Asiwaju Tinubu has been compromised. Someone had hacked into it with access into the contacts stored on the phone

“We discovered this compromise of the telephone number by persons on the contact list contacting me to clarify a purported request to send money to him or other persons at dedicated accounts in different banks including sometimes by Western Union.
“We wish to inform the public that this is a scam. Asiwaju Tinubu has made no such request to anybody and any such purported request neither emanated from him nor with his authority and support. There is no need to even remotely consider any such request.

“Asiwaju’s regrets any inconvenience this might have caused many of those on his contact list. The incident has since been reported to the relevant security authorities and the mobile service provider for necessary action and investigation.”
