Former governor of Kano State and the presidential candidate of the All Nigeria People's Party, Ibrahim Shekarau, has been arrested by the State Security Service (SSS) over allegations that he was instrumental to the emergence and sustenance of the deadly Islamist militant group, Boko Haram.
A security source told us that Mr. Shekarau was invited by the SSS today and remains with agency several hours after his arrest.
