Army withdraws soldiers from Lagos

Army authorities  have, Tuesday, ordered the withdrawal of soldiers deployed last week to Lagos during the oil subsidy removal protest.

Lagosians had woken up last Monday to behold stern looking soldiers  in strategic areas of the state. The development sparked up controversies, with the Lagos State Governor, Mr Babatunde Fashola, describing the deployment as undemocratic.
Human rights activists as well as prominent Nigerians also kicked against the deployment of the troops. (Vanguard)
