Expolosions seen around Kano


Islamist militants of the Jama’atu Ahli Sunna lid Da’awati wal Jihad, known as Boko Haram this evening struck in the city of Kano.
The deadly sect struck around Sharada area of Kano in a daring daylight   attack on a police station. Residents said gunfight between sect members and soldiers continued till early evening. The situation created panic as residents ran for safety.
There was no reports of casualties. Government officials stated that the 6am-6pm curfew is still in force in the state, the curfew was imposed following several bomb explosions that rocked the state late January.

Sources within the sect said they are going through significant rift in Kano following the sweeping attacks that  killed some 200 people, most of whom are Muslims.
The situation has led to the formation of a splinter sect out of Boko Haram known as “Ansaru”.

Similarly, security has been beefed up in Kaduna State in other to avoid another attack from the sect, whose members’ security agencies are trailing in the city following arrest of Qaqa in Kaduna. 
Mr. Qaqa is currently undergoing interrogation in the custody of the Nigerian authorities. He reportedly revealed today that most members are tired of fighting but are mortally afraid of the sect leader, Imam Shekau, who frequently orders assasination of disloyal members in front of their families as means of maintaining control over Boko Haram members.
