Nigerians join subsidy protest in Ghana



Rebrand Nigerian Youths in Ghana led a group of Nigerians to the Nigerian High Commission to show solidarity with our brothers and sisters in Nigeria.

The youths, students, corporate groups all came out en mass to show their disdain for the subsidy removal.
The people were addresed by Mike Opeyemi, student, myself Comrade Barry Ndu, the Nigerian youths leader in Ghana, Chief Dele Mommodu, CEO, Ovations, Otunba Mike Ajayi and Comrade Oludayo, NANS President, 1995.

The High Commisioner, Sen. Musliu Obanikoro, came to address the people and promised that the letter we wrote to the President would be delivered to him.

 Roadblocks in Abeokuta,
In Abeokuta, the Ogun state’s capital, there are lots of roadblocks and protesters taking advantage of innocent people by asking them to pay money before allowing them to proceed to their destinations.
I think this is not proper and Vanguard can help create awareness that will make protesters stop infringing on other people’s right to move around.

Peaceful protest in Ilorin
Today’s protest is more pronounced than the first two days.  Roads were barricaded by protesters on major roads. There are no bonefires, no molestation and most security agents on the roads were civil.  It seems people are not ready to give up soon on the protest.

Ilorin continues…
At the garage Offa axis of Ilorin, protesters besieged the roundabout stopping motorists.  Meanwhile, an attempt by mobile policemen to disperse protesters proved abortive as they continued  with the demontration.

Protest continues in Kaduna, by Nwosu Matthew
Kaduna state governement announced a curfew yesterday, as business activites were grouded  and only security operatives are seen patroling the city centre and environs.

This morning, as l drove around town, some people, about 60 okada riders and some bus drivers, were arrested and kept in a compound used as cell for offenders by the security operatives at the Sabo Market area of Kaduna South, opposite Keystone Bank area U-turn for non compliance with the directives.
Business remained shut in Keffi
No protest in keffi town today but businesses, banks, filling stations and government offices remains closed.
